Pre-marital Counseling

We had our final premarital counseling session on Monday. Here we are with Randy, our officiant/youth minister/really great guy.

We spent time during this last session planning the ceremony. It's going to be great! We can't wait to share it with all of you!!

Little Details

Here's a picture of Teagan modeling the amazing shirt that her mom got for us. That's right, Brian has one too!

Lately our wedding planning has been that of taking care of details. We got the artificial snow for throwing in last night. We are shopping for attendant gifts. Brian is taking care of the engagement announcement in the paper.

The biggest accomplishment of late...and you should already know about this...is that we mailed our invitations last week! We are SO happy with the way they turned out...thank you Marta for your amazing design skills.

Our First Shower

We had our first bridal shower this morning. What a blast! It was given by Kim Llanusa, Pam Bakker, and Wendy Patterson. The food was amazing, it was fun...thank you guys so much! Thank you for proving Brian's wrong when he said "I will never, ever go to a bridal shower." :)

Here are some pictures from the shower:

Here's Brian showing off his beer mugs that he will actually use to drink milk. That's right, he's a wild man!

Food Storage!!

This is my "are you sure you want ME to cut the cake?" face. Brian is checking me out.

Engagement Pictures

We took engagement pictures about two weeks ago. They have been posted online on the photographer's website, but we got the disc yesterday, so I thougt I'd post a few for those who read this blog to see. I must say, we were both having a great hair day :)

Great personality shot :)

LOVE this one!

This one won't due for an announcement because we're too far away, but we love the reflection in the water.

I love this one because it looks like Brian might hurt the photographer if he doesn't stop soon.

There are 145 pictures, so I won't be posting all of them on here. Anyway, we are soooooo happy with our photographer, as you can see. We can't wait to see how our wedding pictures will turn out!

Another Busy Day

At this point, I should probably just go to bed...I'm exhausted, but here I am...at the computer.

Here are some of the wedding planning highlights we hit today. Went to the reception site to give them the contract and plan how we want the tables and dance floor set up (that's right kids, put on your dancin' shoes!). Stopped by mom's house...she gave us shirts with cartoon renderings of ourselves on them. They say "We're tying the knot!" I'll have to post a picture later...I haven't taken one yet.

We ran by the church so I could take pictures (for the florist) and pay the deposit.

After that, we met with the caterer. Brian, being the good man that he is, took charge there and basically made out our menu. Then we made for the mall and picked up Brian's wedding band. I'm posting a picture of Brian giving what he calls "wedding finger."

Following a brief break to catch our breath, we met with the videographer.

Both of us realized that the wedding-planning advice other couples have given us is valid: we have to set aside a day where there is no planning allowed. That will be Wednesday for us...and we're excited about doing nothing!

Brian's comments :)

Brian added some comments to another post, but I wanted to make sure everyone got to read them. Eventually, I'll give him the password so that he can make posts whenever he likes :) p.s. this picture of him is from April.

Yes I did it!! But I sure did not think of it all. I enlisted the help of Teagan's 2 best friends.... Jennifer Loveday and Christi Noe. These fabulous and intelligent ladies helped me plan "Operation Engage" with precision, but most importantly with love and tenderness. I give a huge THANK YOU to these, my two compatriots, I will plan an operation with you any time.

Pics and Planning

Here are a couple of photos of "station one" It was dark outside and my best friend took these from the balcony of the Sunsphere...I didn't even know she was taking them!

And here is the best picture I have of my ring yet. I love it.

We have had BUSY days this past week. While still enjoying the novelty of being engaged and getting used to saying "fiance" instead of boyfriend/girlfriend, we have jumped full throttle into wedding planning.

On Tuesday, we registered for gifts (thank you, Target!), decided on a church for the wedding, scouted out hotels for those of you who will be travelings, and picked up a contract from the reception site.

Yesterday (Wednesday), I picked out a bridesmaids dress with the wonderful help of my best friend, Christi. Brian and his boys made tuxedo arrangements. We also reserved the restaurant for the rehearsal dinner and picked out Brian's wedding ring.

Whew! I think we are both a little relieved to be going to work today! :)

Here are some more photos of engagement. These are some that were taken with my camera. I have yet to collect the pics from the other cameras involved. Brian is so good and thoughtful to have planned to have someone taking pictures all along the way.

This is station two....Chocolate covered strawberries. Check out my prissy face in the second shot! :)

Here are the guys (and girl!) that helped Brian pull it all off!!! Thanks a ton!

Proposal

So, we're engaged!! I thought I would tell the proposal story from my (Teagan's) perspective as a first post.

Brian took me to dinner at The Butcher Shop, which is a steak restaurant where you get to pick your own piece of meat for them to cook. The restaurant is just adjacent to The World's Fair park, so Brian suggested that we go for a walk after dinner.
When we got to the Sunsphere, two of Brian's friends were waiting there. One had a bouquet of roses and the other was taking pictures. Brian read a card to me about Beauty and how unlike the flowers my beauty is both inward and out. Then he read from 1 Peter 3:3-5. After that, we kept walking.
A little further along, two more of his friends met us and handed us a Godiva box. It had chocolate covered strawberries that were all together. He told me they were to represent two becoming one and talked to me about how each is good on it's own, but the combination is better than the ingredients apart...and he read from Ephesians 5:31.
Then we walked a little further and met two more friends of Brian's. He just took something from them and we kept walking right to the middle of a bridge. He had gotten a Bible and read to me from 1 Cor. 13 and Song of Songs 8:6-7. When he was done reading, he turned the Bible over and showed that he'd had it engraved "Teagan Rozmus" Then he got down on one knee and asked me to be his wife. Through many tears, I said yes!
